Welcome to GenScraps, your home for both “scraps” of genealogy and family history, and the use of scrapbooks to document your findings. In these pages I combine my passion for digital scrapbook artistry with my passion for exploring my family history. I hope you will find something enjoyable and informative by browsing these pages.
I have created this website for several purposes:
- To share my knowledge regarding genealogical research
- To share interesting discoveries in my own family tree
- To encourage the archiving of family history data via scrapbooks
- To provide resources for genealogical research
- To provide historical context in selected areas, notably those that compliment my own personal researches.
- To offer my services to others who cannot or do not wish to conduct their own research.
- To help me organize my own materials

You will find my line of Digital Scrapbook kits especially designed for scrapping family history and genealogical information in the Digitals section. I created this line for my own personal use, but due to a number of requests I have made it available for others to use as well.
Lately I have been doing some article writing for inline article archives, on a variety of topics. You will reprints of them, or links to them here as well.
What’s New
In the process of building this site, I have made the change from using Expression Web to using Wordpress. It has been an interesting switch, and things are not completely moved yet. If you find broken links, or links that seem to go to the wrong places, check again in a day or so and they should be fixed. I expect to complete the switchover and start new content in 2 or 3 days.
Genealogy Section
This section has articles written about genealogy, including advice on research, as well as some personal experiences with my own research.
History Section
This section I will be placing information meant to provide historical context to my own personal researches. Since I am gathering this information anyway, I might as well share it here for others to make use of. My current focus is the Pilgrim Era in New England, with particular emphasis on Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Some articles will be written by me. Others will be relevant articles written by others, or reprinted from public domain documents and books.
Digital Scrapbook Section
This section will have articles about using scrapbooking techniques to display your genealogical data, and also provides a selection of digital scrapbook kits to help you get started doing this.
